Need advice on my choice of PSU!

M_J_S

Hello

This is my first PC build and I am having trouble selecting a power supply unit.

Is 750W overkill? I plan to add more storage,LED lighting and more fans down the road.

Thanks for any advice in advance!590f081d5760c_Screenshot(9).thumb.png.6d80cbff3f2ebc77054790b329b032b9.png590f08a58ae83_Screenshot(10).thumb.png.d4dce7b34ed9c823a04ec247e654a74e.png :)

400 watts would technically be enough. Get something from tier 1-3 from the PSU tier list in my signature that's >= 450 watts.

I would also personally change the 7600k to a 7700k and get a cheap $30~ cooler (like a BeQuiet Pure Rock/Cryorig H7).

You don't need a 750 in there then.

Click on the "PSU Tier list" in my signature and you'll see.

But I'd do something like this (and I'd also get a cheaper case, but I assume you really want a 780T):

Then save some money and get the Corsair RM550x, EVGA 550 G2, Bitfenix Whisper 550M, etc

Solid recommendation, though for about 80 more you can get the 1080Ti (80 USD)

Fractal Design Edison 550 M would be a better deal for the OP if he decides to go with this.

Same Seasonic G / S12G platform as that XFX TS Gold, but it's modular and cheaper.

@M_J_SThis looks good but if you're planning on having just one GPU then a case as huge as the 780T is really unnecessary. Get a cheaper case like an NZXT S340 or Fractal Design Define C.

|PSU Tier List /80 Plus Efficiency| PSU stuff if you need it.
