it's good

if you dont need 750w, you can get a evga g2 550w (it has higher efficiency, soooo.. and is probably cheaper)

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

I've heard bad things about EVGA's NEX power supplies. I have not experienced anything first hand though.

  • CPU = i7 5930k
  • Cooler = Corsair H100i
  • RAM = Dominator Platinum 32GB DDR4-2666
  • Storage = Samsung 850 Pro 1TB
  • GPU = EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW3
  • PSU = Corsair 750D
  • PSU = Corsair 1000W
  • Monitor = Asus PG278Q

The NEX750B / B1 is based on a rather old, mediocre design. I would not recommend it

Mediocre

Get Corsair CX-M grey or S12II, better choice

I would refer you to the pinned PSU tiers thread, found here:

The PSU you mentioned is in tier 5, which means it would be fine for a general use PC, but probably not for heavy gaming/overclocking. If you plan to build a PC more aimed at higher end use/overclocking, anything from tier 1-3 should be fine.

As was pointed out above, you might not need all 750 watts, and in this situation would be better off getting a higher quality, lower power PSU. More information on choosing a power supply wattage, and PSUs in general can be found here:

Feel free to post any other questions on the forums.

NEX aren't great units, get CXM grey sticker, B2, or S12ii/M12ii units instead or GQ or G2 if you're going more high end.

The NEX Bronze and B3s are for all intents and purposes identical. They have the same efficiency rating, and a very similar, if slightly more up to date, platform underneath.

They do?

Im pretty sure the b2 line is a tier 2, and the b3 line is supposively made by the same people who made the b2 line (superflower or whatever) so it is definitely tier 2 or above. The g3 which is essentially the same psu but rated higher has a 9.8 in johnnyguru too.

The NEX Bronze / B1 are FSP GLN 88 internally (a design from over 10 years ago) - similar to the FSP Espilons' double forward + group-regulated design with somewhat better ripple suppression.

The B3, on the hand, looks to be a Super Flower design unit that's part of the Leadex family. It uses HB LLC Renosant topology + DC-DC for the minor rails. It's a much more, modern design than the NEX. However, since it cost $96.98 shipped, I would probably look at the FSP Hydro G 750w instead.

The Supernova B2 is a cost Super Flower Golden Green, that's in the same price point as the NEX750B, so that would be a better option.

Edit: Actually, I probably look at the Bitfenix Whisper 850M instead at that price point...Although, it's likely even more overkill for the OP's system

Make doubly sure it's the grey sticker variant. The green ones are lethal :P

I should have been clearer, apologies. They will perform similarly, and neither have the same build quality as EVGA's Leadex based units like the G2, G3, P2, T2, etc. My earlier post was badly phrased. What I should have clarified is that they have very similar rail ratings, etc.

You are indeed correct, the B3 is from Super Flower, though it is not a Leadex platform to the best of my knowledge. I know the B2s were Golden Green.

It appears to be essentially a Leadex Silver from what can be gathered.

No, it's not a particularly good unit. A 750B2 or 650GQ/GS/G2/G3 would be a better choice.

Yeah, but I try to avoid recommending sleeve-bearing fan equipped PSUs whenever possible.
