RX 460 unlock

In the end i found a really cheap RX460 and decided to buy it (90 euros and trust me, that is cheap). It is the Sapphire Nitro 4gb one and I was reading some articles on the internet about it while waiting for it to be delivered. I found this extragne thing about unlocking more stream processors and I wanted to know, does it still work? Thank you for your help.

I wouldn't try it. If you wanted more cores you should have gone with an RX 470 or RX 480.

It should still work theoretically but flashing BIOS may result into lots of issues, including bricking it and it's not something you'd want to.

If it didn't work, is it possible to revert the changes easily?

not easy, you need the original bios then follow these steps to unbrick it

This seems like a pretty painful process...

This should work if it's on the validated list of 460s that TechPowerUp has somewhere.

If you know where that lidt if it would be great :)

it def works. if you really want you could flash it with a 560 bios as they have all the cores unlocked and they have higher boost clocks

This might be the only time I'd allow flashing inside windows.

ive flashed inside windows before and its worked just fine. i followed these instructions: http://www.overclock.net/t/1353325/tutorial-atiwinflash-how-to-flash-the-bios-of-your-ati-cards

It works fine roman flashed 6 of them and I have done mine. They were always supposed to be 1024 shades but cut some off so they could hit power targets.
