Stay away from old AMD CPU'S, if you want AMD your only real option is Ryzen.

my brother wants to make a pc for light gaming and since i do a little more heavy gaming he will get my machine (with a g4400) and im getting the new one, so im considering making a amd build and saw the 6 core fx-6300 or the 2 core 4 thread g4600 so the pentium smashes the amd cpu on single threaded perfomance but would the cores win over the pentium? what is the better cpu?

The g4560 is the best value Pentium by far. It would definitely beat out the fx 6300 in gaming and also have the added benefit of being on a platform that is dead.
