service host: local system high cpu usage

My computer was getting a bit loud so i check the task manager and see that service host: local system has high cpu usage (well not high but 30% which is a lot more than other things) and upon further investigation i found that windows update is causing this. I have ran malware bytes and it found nothing. If i go to windows update it says my device is up to date

If i try to stop windows update in services it says:

Windows could not stop the Windows Update service on Local Computer.

Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Should i try out a different virus scan? Or any other recommendations
