nope, Minecraft is an unoptimized mess, 4 cores are more than enough, just overclock them.

Minecraft runs on almost any hardware these days, so you won't really notice.

 

Its pretty single threaded though, so more clock is better, core count doesn't matter.

To play Minecraft on medium settings. Also, consider getting a GTX 1080TI. It seems expensive, but you really need it if you want to use texturepacks

 

In all seriousness, get something like a i5:6400, way to much for Minecraft with the price you want in most markets.

Was just going to say, Minecraft run's fine even on mobile AMD-A8 CPU's found in laptops from 2012. It's the GPU that's important since 1.8 and all the shader updates they've pushed out.

Don't buy that. It's a processor from a LONGGGG time ago. Don't buy AMD low end chips as of now. Except for APU builds.
