So lets start this with what I have my current system was built for college with a $350 budget it is a horrible system and cannot keep up with the things I need it for(have killed it twice just running VMs). Current specs are anthlon 860k, 16gb ddr3 1600, gtx 1050ti, 500w powersupply(that came with my case surprisingly has held up for the past 2 years), and a total of 4tb of storage between 5 HDDs(no ssd)

Alot of my classes require me to write programs or use certain programs and this pc just couldn't cut it(ended up using a friends pc to complete my assignments) I also like to game a lot and the cpu is a huge bottleneck to my gtx 1050ti. I would also like to stream but it is nearly impossible with this rig.

Now onto my new build. I already have most of these parts(except cpu and cooler) my new system is going to be: ryzen 5 1600(hoping to OC it), gtx 1050ti(recycling the current gpu), 600w rosewill glacier psu, cooler master cm 590II case(its either 590II or 590III), asrock fatality b350 gaming k4 mobo, 32gb ddr4 3000 ram(forget the brand it was cheap and I was cutting my budget close with it), 250gb m.2 drive, 500gb ssd, then my hdd's will be recycled from my current pc so 4tb divided among 5 HDD, and lastly cooler master MasterLiquid 240 AIO. currently my budget was 600 and I am down to 400(closer to 380dollars left for the cpu and cooler). I have been buying these parts little by little with my past 4checks and with my next check(two weeks away) I will finally have enough for my cpu and cooler. (allot of these parts were given to me by a friend)

so what do you guys think of this? solid build for gaming, school, and mild streaming?

Looks really good, but do you need 32GB RAM? Are you running a bunch of VMs and normal programs at the same time? Most VMs will run well with 4GB RAM, letting you run two and still have 8GB RAM for you system (With 16GB RAM).

I see no gains in using m.2, I would just get a larger single SATA 3 SSD for the C:// drive, Most of it seems good, the 1600+1050ti won't be any gaming beast but it'll certain allow you decent gaming you are no where near achieving with the current rig.

The 32gb of ram seems excessive, you'll be fine with 16gb since you are not doing content creation but rather just programing.

About the PSU I would go with the SeaSonic S12II 520w, it should prove sufficient power for your system and if you keep on a single GPU setup it should also prove enough for future upgrades.

I would go with air cooling over liquid cooling. A good air cooler will do just as well as non-custom water cooling in many cases, especially when not delidding a CPU As don't except crazy gaming from the 1050 Ti for graphically intense titles such as DOOM.

Edit:I should also include don't except running games a amazing resolutions, 720p to 1080p should be your max.

Bad PSU choice, overkill RAM (16GB is more than enough), bad CPU cooler choice
