Hey guys, according to task manager, my disk is running at 100% most of the time and the system and network processes are the ones hogging up the disk. Can anyone help me clear those up? I'm using Windows 10, and my specs are:

CPU- AMD A8 6500 with a stock cooler

PSU- EVGA 430W PSU

RAM- 8GB Generic DDR3 RAM from Samsung

MOBO- MSI 7778 (JasmineR) motherboard

Case- Fractal design core 1100 case- (one case fan)

GPU- Zotac GTX 1050 Mini

Storage- 2 TB Samsung HDD

What is running? Some updator?

It is also probably caching the disk on ram to make it faster.

Id let it sit for a hour and se if its still being used.

Yeah but the issue is that my PC (might be broken RAM or MOBO-- or even the Disk Usage) shuts off after about 10 minutes-20 minutes. It either shuts off or goes on standby so I don't have any way to make sure the issue isn't the windows files

Specs?

Temps?

DOes it freeze or just turn off? bluescreen?

Id guess bad hardware, but you can check by using a different os, like linux on a usb stick.

It simply shuts off like when you force a shut down. Just now I tried moving the 24 pin connector and it does the same thing every time I move it just slightly. Issue detected, but how do I fix it, and how do I know the MOBO isn't broken?

What psu? you can work with connectors, but it can be a pain to deal with.

If the connector will power it off, then its not the board(other than maybe a bad connector.

Okay, I'm an idiot. Apparently the hard drive was big and pushed the 24 pin cable so that it would be pulled away and caused random shut off. I'll still keep an eye out and see if it happens again, but now that I moved the cable and wiggled the connector while it was on the motherboard, it seems to be fine *facepalm*

Back to the disk issue, I'll keep my PC on for about an hour and see if anything weird happens.
