Ram Compatability With Ryzen 5 1600

Well, firstly check the board manufacturers references. That'll show what they've tested it with, 2ndly its apparently running at speeds over 3000 that can cause issues along with using up all banks of memory.

Now firmware updates are apparently fixing these issues but those are the main sticking points at the moment :)

Newer ones are Hynix-based. It'll most likely be stable at 2666 MHz with stock or slightly tightened timings and slightly unstable (will fail benchmarks like Prime95 but not most other tasks) at 2933. The memory update slated for May should let you clock higher in the future, though.

Have a look at the QVL for your board - look up '<mobo manfacturer and board name> QVL'

then look for the models on the list using the memory part of au.pcpartpicker.com as PCCG is a rip for some things.

idk

Honestly I would go with the gskills new line made for amd. I heard reviewers were having a better time reaching higher memory speeds with those kits.

Anything with Samsung b die that's single rank is good. Unfortunately, the cheapest kits with it are around $150 :/.

I think you can get the Ripjaws v 3000 MHz cl14 2x8gb kit for around $150.

The cheaper fortis and flare x kits probably don't have b die, otherwise they wouldn't be so cheap and low clocked. It's the higher clocked ones (3000-3200) that have it and those cost a pretty penny.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.
