BUDGET PC ---- Ryzen 1400 or Pentium g4560

This is my first PC build with about a $500-$700 (US dollar) budget (the less the better though). Spending more on the Ryzen will definitely give me a better price/performance value but upgrading the Intel would most likely be easier in the future. It will mainly be used as a light gaming rig and a general multi-purpose PC.  I don't need any peripherals.

Here are the two part lists:
Intel: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/halstead101/saved/nYf4D3
Ryzen: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/halstead101/saved/ByLxrH

Feel free to suggest things that will cut down on cost and/or add performance.

Thanks!

It's still quite hard to answer this with the information we have as of right now.

But i am pretty sure the Ryzen chip will out perform the pentium.

If you wanna do some light gaming on a pc, dont get a RX 470. It will outperform many AAA games.

Consider SSHD instead of SSD + HardDrive Combo

At this price point, it is more viable.

that card isn't worth the extra cost.

If you're trying to get maximum value from your price point, I'd consider the AMD system, a quadcore is definitely the way to go.

A build like this would be an extremely good buy:

I managed to squeeze in a 1500X (which performs a little better out of the box and comes with a much better cooler), swapped the SSD for a SSHD( I believe the value here is undeniable), Changed the case (still has a window so you can show it off), changed the PSU (this rig will only draw about ~300ish watts under normal load) and picked up the cheapest 480 (still great for gaming at 1080p high).

I also noticed your choice of RAM on the AMD system has no cost, was this a mistake or do you have a stick lying around?

This is how I adjusted it. I was torn between the cheapest 8gb 480 and the 8gb 470. Since the 470's are so easy to unlock, I decided to go with that (though you can unlock the 4 gig rx480 and oc it even easier so...)

Either, it's definitely on the cheap.

You know what's nuts? If you buy physical disks, you can literally get by with a 250gb sata, buy a windows license for $20 bucks, buy a $25 case, you build a 1080p 45-100 FPS Ultra settings gaming machine with all new parts for less than $500. Not a potato used build, but all new, accept maybe recycling a mouse and keyboard.

I know this is derailing this topic but....

Yeah, you can, I even managed to increase the storage and include a keyboard, mouse and optical drive, all new for $497 on the dot(as long as you get the mail in rebate).
