Can't get a wired connection to work? But wifi does?

BrokeAFKid

I moved and finally got a proper internet connection (50down/10 up) and I did set up the router ( Vodafone Easy Box 804) but I can't seem to get the wired connection to work.  I tried multiple cabels and only the wireless version seems to work.

Help me?

Are you using Windows? What does the network icon say when you plug in an Ethernet cable?

The computer with the cable and the red cross, the one you get when you have no connection.

Open Device Manager, make sure your Ethernet adapter is properly detected and has drivers installed for it.

Is the Ethernet Controller and the Ethernet adapter the same thing?

if the network card is integrated into the motherboard, then we'd need to know what motherboard you have.

To keep thins simple, go to the website of whoever made the motherboard, find the motherboard (and optionally the revision) and hit the downloads/drivers button and scroll to the "LAN / Network" category and download the driver for your operating system

Tried and failed. Downloaded it and installed it but it was the realtek network card was not found. If the Deep sleep mode is enabled please plug in the cable.

The cable is plugged in and I have no clue what deep sleep mode is.

Your router is kaputt

If it says "Connect ethernet cable" the LAN port is dead.
