    • Yes, kids are smarter than us, therefore can ride driverless cars

    • No, kids are too dumb to use the navigation system

    • Don't care about driverless cars

I can't comment on Australia but I highly doubt kids will be able to use them in the US since it's a law that all vehicles must have a licensed and insured adult operating the vehicle. It's also the reason why they'll still need truck drivers even if the trucks drive themselves.

Also, your poll is very ignorant so I'm unable to pick any of those choices.

I believe technology is operating the vehicle so what happens now. Parents can insure it.

I hope not, that would be a liability nightmare.

IT might not happen right now but its alot safer to have driverless cars

Technology would be controlling the vehicle, until the AI takes over it'll still be humans operating it.

Bikes: Kids can operate it because it is simple to operate (i think)

Driverless cars: Simple. Just put in where you want to go and it takes you

Cars: Difficult with brakes gear accelerator and other stuff

Just a few examples

I don't know the last time somebody killed a group of people with a bike. Keep in mind that self driving cars aren't designed to have everybody sitting in the backseat, you still need a human being in the driver's seat to take control if the computer malfunctions.

Currently, driving is operating so right now there is not much of a difference but in the future there will

Driving is operating but operating is not exclusively driving. Pressing buttons or giving voice commands is operating a vehicle but not driving a vehicle.

Better wording.

Probably have a  emergency shut down/brake/wheels fall off button that will kill it

YAY but wasn't my point. I was trying to tell/ask you that what is the difference between bikes and driverless cars.

And you backed up my reasoning in the process. I'm fine with that as long as we both agree that it's a bad idea. xD

In the US no. Too many old fucks around who dont understand or trust tech. These are the old fucks who should not have license because they are the ones who cause the accidents. Also, we have too many old fucks in politics. Until that changes, dont expect the laws to change.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

For years after self-driving cars become a real thing, the US will still require a licensed driver at the controls.  Mostly, they will want someone there for emergencies.  These cars will still require the ability to take manual control for the foreseeable future, IMO.  Lawmakers aren't going to allow fully autonomous cars with kids in control.
