R9 290 OC'ing problem

Go to solution Solved by Rambo,

Sould i download later drivers?

You need the 13.11 beta 9.2. It sets the fanspeed to 47% by default.

Here is the article from Anandtech http://www.anandtech.com/show/7501/amd-changes-290-series-fan-algorithms

So i want to OC it more,  but There is a fan speed limit of 40%, i want to disable it,but i do not know that how.

Also why overdrive looks like this?

Wouldn't those cards get underclocked at only 40 % fanspeed?

yes, because there is limit, it is changeable, like Luke had that limit at 77%, but he changed it from AMD overdrive, but my overdrive looks totally different. :(

Edit: 40 % is apparently the cap for quiet mode

If this was a 290x

Yes, but card is at uber mode. :P

Uber mode is only for 290x right? If not, you might need to enable that.

Obligatory check drivers question since the newest drivers did something to the fanspeeds iirc

You should (mostly) always download the latest drivers. Do note however that you may need ear protection if you turn the fan up beyond 40%. hehe....heh....heh...
