in Overwatch? i mean, i planing on buying a new monitor too, that has 144hz, like VG248QE or XL2411, does the 1700 can draw out that kind of monitor to the fullest content?

The motherboard is just a bridge of communication between components, aside the extra features from premium ones such as more ports, integrated wifi, rgb and aesthetics, the very cheapest good quality mobo like any Asus iprettymuch will do the bridge thingy as good as the most expensive gaming motherboard there is, the CPU, GPU and such will work the same way.

 

I am advising Asus because their BIOs already fixed almost all the RAM issue.

In Overwatch you should be able to get 144FPS:

(This graph shows performance with a Titan X Pascal or a 1080, I don't remember)

like if i only go to 16gb ram, its really doesnt make big different, but if i go to bigger like 64, then its a big deal?

yea, that whats i mean, its really doesnt matter what MB like, if its can recognize ur 1700 as 1700, cheapest or expensive one.

its different story if "man, if you buy cheapest MB, ur MB will only recognize ur 1700 as only 1400".  <<< this is not gonna happen if i buy cheaper MB right?

Not RAM capacity, RAM speed. In other words, if the RAM is running at 3200MHz, 3000MHz etc.

From that video he was averaging 140ish fps, the 1700 and 1700x have a small gap in gaming, so expect at least 120fps you can still decrease quality to make up, but the GPU is max out just fine.

 

About the RAM, like just stated above it isn't about quantity but frequency, Ryzen sees benefit from higher frequency in a very noticeable way, though getting a motherboard that accepts higher frequency tends to be more expensive...

That video is not actually running on those frames per second, the video is recordered and rendered in a way it is reduced to 60fps for youtube, gameplay should be better.

It makes a big difference with Ryzen, while it makes almost no difference with Intel. Ryzen isn't a "simple" 8 core CPU. It has 2 quad core CCXs which are connected with what AMD calls infinity fabric, this runs at half the speed of the memory, so memory frequency has a noticeable impact on performance. Intel uses no such thing and this is why performance isn't affected (too much) by RAM speed.

You can, but it will be harder to get the memory to 3200MHz.

3000MHz at least. 3200MHz is what I would recommend. If you want the best possible gaming performance, get 3600MHz RAM. (for Ryzen of course)

It is good enough, you may not be able to get the memory to 3200MHz, but for your needs, 3000MHz should be enough

Go easy on him, motherboards that support 3600mhz are considerably more expensive than others, the extra price he will have to pay to achieve it frankly feels to me not a worthy investment on his condition and budget.

 

From personal experience once it runs at 2933mhz it is has sufficient performance, in a way you will not be "losing" just not gaining extra, given his budget I personally advise something like the GigaByte mATX AB350m Gaming 3, paired with 3000mhz Corsair Vengeance.

bios issues makes it a hit and miss, 2933mhz is almost guaranteed though.

It is... I doubt you'll find better cost-to-performance than this with the r7 1700 even though I'd still have went with the i7 7700 build for what is worth.

Even the highest end motherboards have trouble getting the memory to 3200MHz. With this more budget board, I think that up to 3000MHz is possible, but 3200 isn't.
