Computer Stuttering, Moved Components to New Case

So I'm a little bit confused by this one, and cant seem to figure out whats wrong. My computer has started stuttering very hard after moving everything to my new computer. Everything was working completely fine in my old case. Today I got in my Fractal Design Node 202 with the included 450 Watt power supply. The odd thing is the CPU temperatures are staying below 40 degrees, and I'm running the same software as I used to. I looked at usage and when the stutter happens, it goes up to 96+ % on windows, but not on realtemp or speedfan.

 

System specs:

Windows 10 Pro 64 bit

I5 6600k

Cryorig C7 Cpu Fan

Intel 120 Gig SSD (old not sure what model)

EVGA GTX 680 Blower style

Fractal Design Node 202 with included SFF 450 Watt power supply

G.Skill 2x8gig DDR4 Ram

Asrock Fatality z170 ITX

 

The parts I had was:

Corsair H60

Corsair 650 Watt Power supply

Corsair 380T ITX case

 

When the stutter started happening the programs I was running was: Diablo 3, Demonbuddy, Teamspeak, Realtemp, Chrome with a youtube video (shoutout to Jayztwocents) and a text website. This is pretty much my typical setup, even before moving to the new case. The only thing different, as stated is new power supply, case and cooler. But the temps are not an issue!

PC part picker gave the system a total power draw of only 350, well under the wattage of the PSU.

Maybe the PSU is faulty. Try the old PSU and see if things are stable

The case doesn't support the old PSU's size, and I'm hoping not to spend more money on a new power supply. Would there be any other problems that could be it?

No not really. Just jerry rig it and set the PSU on top or something to see if the stuttering goes away for a few minutes and if the issue is fixed RMA the PSU.

Yep, It was the psu. Unfortunately I was mislead by a youtuber that the psu would be enough wattage.

So I just got my new case and power supply, and I ran the power supply connected to everything in my old case, and it worked fine. Then I moved everything to my new case, a 600 watt power supply, and it made the stutter again, this time it was actually worse.

hmm. What power supply is it? Check all your connections

600 Watt Corsair SFX.

 

As i said, I tried everything out in my old case with this new power suply, and it worked just fine. I have absolutely no clue whats going on lol

This may help, when I plug in a USB headset to the front, it ALMOST stops altogether.

hi, I have the same issue, its the pc case, the node 202 uses a PCIe riser, because the riser they give you is kinda crapy it has stuttery issues.

The stuttering happens randomly but always when I first boot my pc up

 

I know this is an old thread but people may still refer to this for answers.

 

also, PSU's won't be causing stuttering issues.

 

The build I put in my node 202 was

1500x

biostar x370gtn

16gb 2933

750ti

250gb SSD

and the integrated 450w PSU

 

 

a simple way to fix is just to buy another high-quality right angle riser or any shape riser,

or just buy a whole different pc case (that's what I done and my hardware works fine in there).
