Samsung apparently is working on 32:9 and 29:9 ultra ultrawide panels

No ultrawide monitor can even come close to 4K + 2x1080p, so it's kind of a moot discussion.

At this moment there are no 4K 120hz monitors on the market either. If you need that many pixels, there are no other alternatives than multi monitor setups (unless you want to buy the upcoming 8K monitor for more than a car).

Of course, I was talking about the near future (this particular product isn't out yet right?)

IMO

1.) Tripple monitor for gaming is popular only because you can't do it with two, you would have crosshair between bezels.

2.) Two monitors are enough for that if they get merged into one big wide display and it also requires less performance.

3.) I can't see how this benefits many games outside of racing or simulation oriented titles. I would still rather play FPS games at 16:9 or 21:9.

4.) Awesome for productivity or running games at 21:9 borderless in the middle of the screen and still having windows opened on the sides.

5.) Maybe not so great for watching movies, requires really good black levels to not make those huge black bars on sides annoying.

6.) 32:9 1080p.. ewww... please make it 32:10 1200p at least, or if 32:9 then 1440p.

Yeah but the highest res ultrawide is 3840x1600 which is already on the market. No higher res are in the pipeline AFAIK. If you need uhd to begin with, you are already past ultrawide, let alone if you need additional monitors.

But it's all about needs. I have a dual monitor setup, so ultrawide would only be a plus for me. For others it might not.

This is literally just one of their 4k curved TVs with the panel cut in half.

Not only do you get half as many pixels, but you also get fer less screen area because 49" 32:9 is much smaller than 49" 16:9.

If anyone actually wants a single screen for more immersion when gaming, buy one of the TVs and sit as regular monitor distance away.

It is far more immersive than this squat potato, and more vertical fov, way better for watching youtube videos, movies, other content, etc...
