It seems the Windows version is still superior through DX11 vs Vulkan.

 

The 680 can't hold 60FPS in Vulkan on medium settings, in DX11 it holds 60FPS on ULTRA.

you can't really compare them, the code paths are different

if they would've been developed by the same studio, then we'd have a different talk

No i'm impressed with this, i am just making a point before people start spreading that Linux is now better than Windows.

 

Linux is making great leaps to being a better gaming OS, but it's very slow.

Linux is better than Windows in so many ways

if you would get two pieces of SW that were properly coded on both platforms, Linux would perform better

 

Linux doesn't have to deal with all the crapware MS adds to it's OS; hell even W7 can be faster, in many circumstances, compared to W10

Now we are derailing, i'm not arguing because it just ends up in the thread being locked and cleaned up.

problem is neither nVidia nor AMD give proper attention to their Linux drivers

 

Linux and Vulkan especially needs to get a whole lot more attention from game devs - then and only then we can truly compare

 

I would make the switch in less than 5minutes, I already have the HDD installed with Lubuntu; I just need to power it and boot from it

You should try OpenSuse when you get a chance. I honestly hate all of the Ubuntu variants, and I did like Fedora up until 24 where Red Hat just... totally hosed...

for what reason?! I don't have a problem with Lubuntu and I also have an official ppa that offers nVidia drivers

It just seems to perform better, be magically more stable, and be far less resource hungry. And there is an official nvidia drivers repo if you want it.

Lubuntu is the least bloated Ubuntu flavor; and as for stability ?!?!?!?! what about it? never had issues

I still have a Lubuntu machine that went trough a lot of dist upgrades for more than 7y now

I am using Fedora 25 and think it's pretty awesome. What's your issue with it?

Absolutely unstable and a total resource hog, unlike 23. It broke my Macbook's triple boot 3 separate times.
