Oh. I am getting a usb to scsi adapter from startech along with startech, so then i should be set. I had no idea that software existed. So really i just plug in and clone and swap and i am done?, cause i have been seeing some initialization and a whole other can of worms

Yep, you should be done that way. The software should automatically detect the attached hard drive with USB and ask to clone the HDD to SSD.

I am going to start my pc building soon. But i am getting my 850 evo soon, so i was hoping to try out the whole ssd in laptop thing.

However i have no clue on how to clone a drive, google seems to offer some advice but i would prefer someone from.the  forums help me out. I trust you guys more, cause i just wanna make sure i got the steps right

Use Macrium Reflect to make a clone. Take the new drive and attach it with a 2.5"-SATA adapter. Then apply the image to the SSD. Change the HDD and SSD out and you're golden.

Use Samsung Magician software that comes with the 850 EVO. It is one of the most user-friendly cloning software. You either need 2.5 SATA to USB adapter or another drive bay in your laptop to clone it. GL.
