It uses the same mounting hardware as you're CPU.  Use a small copper shim ($1.50 or so) and fasten it on

It definitely would. You have insufficient airflow. When I was still using my define nano s, I got a 10c temp drop just by swapping out the stock exhaust fan. Airflow is your problem here.
