too much resource, OP get linux.

my T7300 laptop has 2 g and win10

I have a freind at school who has an old laptop with 1GB ddr2 ram. It is the only upgradble thing in the laptop and he is 12 like me so he cant get a new one. Will upgrading it to 2GB(the max the cpu supports) make it faster in day to day tasks? ex:web browsing

Yes to a certain extent I would say max the ram out as much as you can. SInce I know what its like to have no job. 2GB is low but if it feels sluggish doing things that extra Gig may help.

2gb is enough for web browsing even on a win 10, when I'm on the outside I use my old laptop for programming practicing and browsing and such, no slow downs at all, in fact it just limits a larger multi-tasking

Now, in all honesty if you mean like the OP mention he has no income and Linux is free so a good pick then yes I agree but for me personally I would never go from my "win 9,5" as Linus says to Linux, by preference.

It's great, i actually can even have minecraft playable on it. Starts just as fast as my PC, has a bad, small trackpad but a great keyboard that is better than many membrane desktop keyboards. It is great for web browsing+spotify+skype at the same time. DAMMIT win10 is pushing me update
