Greetings everyone,

My name is Michael, I'm from upstate NY. I'm curious to know how the case market has evolved over the past several years. Mind you, I don't live under a rock, but I thought "Hey wouldn't it be cool if we had a 2016/2017 top 10 case review from Linus?", then in my mind it was settled to make such a request in this forum. About 5 years ago I fell in love with the Thermaltake Level 10 GT, and even though I haven't bought it yet, I know that when I do budget out myself a new case and cooling system, that I would want to go with something as futuristic and modern looking as that. I do like the 460x crystal series from Corsair among a bunch of others that I can't remember off of the top of my head, but hey.. Wouldn't it be cool to have a lengthy review about cases? How 'bout it Linus Sebastian?

The Fractal Define R5 is a bit old now but still one of the best for the price imo. I want to buy another one but I am certain they're going to release an R6 this year.

I just want an itx case that's easy to work in, but not the size of a reg mid tower that some itx cases are going for.

Even though I'd have to get a new cooler and potentially new psu in the future, I still want the NCase M1

First off, this

Second, Hi, I'm from Upstate NY as well, And I am an owner of the Level 10 GT too! And form what I can tell you is Yes. The case marker has deviated from this type of case SIGNIFICANTLY.

The Level 10 GT is HUGE and very space inefficient, has little support for any thing more than an 140mm rear /240mm top AIO watercooling wise, has 4 5.25" bays which are all but extinct, window is tiny in comparison to today's full size acrylic / TG, fans are only "reg green blue" not true RGB, and for the price there is quite a bit more plastic than I'd like.

But damnit if this case isnt still awesome. I think I've seen maybe only one other case that has the SATA power bridge for the hard drives and i think that was the new $900 Phanteks case, 200mm fans are quiet, headphone holder (which i use every single day for my HD6xx's) a total of six front usb ports, good dust filters that work tremendously well, the handle is surprisingly strong even with a full system in it, the feet are rotatable for more stability...

In todays market I might not consider buying it, given how many advancements have been made like efficient space, PSU basements and TG, but I can tell you right now I'm not trading it in any time soon.

Hey guys, I like your responses, and I like the Hardware Canucks video you posted, very awesome. Still, I feel like hearing some suggestions from Linus as he seems to know his shit, and has the conviction to make me take a harder look at the hardware he tends to highlight. Wonder if this will give him an idea for a video....?

Luke is the "case guy" for the channel, and its much more rare that the channel does case reviews anymore. They've shifted towards bleeding edge hardware and many part server videos. Though I do agree, when I saw multiple case reviews for the same case I often watched all channels reviewing the case because many people had different things to point out and comment on, so having multiple references when making that decision helps!
