New PC build

Hey guys, I am definitely new to this forum and relatively new to PC building. However, I really want to build a PC for myself for gaming and normal use. I have a list of parts that I picked out for this build. I just wanted to share it with everyone to see what the more experienced people think about it. I am from Canada and I have a budget of $1200 CAD for this build, so if anyone can help me reduce the price anywhere that would be SUPER! I have not added any peripherals and I am approximately at $1320 CAD. So yeah, heres my list.

CPU: Intel Core i5-7600K 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor

CPU Cooler: Corsair H60 54.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

Motherboard: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory

Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive   AND   Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

GPU: Asus Radeon RX 480 8GB ROG STRIX Video Card

Case: Corsair SPEC-02 ATX Mid Tower Case

PSU: Corsair CSM 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

Thanks,

Get a Z270 motherboard as they support Kaby Lake out of the box, with Z170 boards you have to update the BIOS which takes up a lot of time.

Not bad, but here are some things you should keep in mind:

- You need to update the bios on that motherboard before it will work with a kaby lake CPU. You'll either have to get a Z270 board, or a skylake cpu.

- Instead of buying an unlocked i5 and water cooler , you can buy an i7-7700/6700 (non-K) which is a better value for your money, but it's up to you.

Thats a really well balanced system so far, but you could save quite a few bucks here and there.

Don't get an AIO liquid cooling system at all This should save you around 130$ alone. Get something like a Coolermaster Hyper212 Evo instead and three Corsair ML120 120mm PWM fans, or similar ones, for good case airflow and cool looks.

Get a i5 6600k instead. Virtually the same performance, but up to 30$ cheaper. Also since the 6600k is a Skylake part you won't have to update your BIOS (,which is kind of near damn impossible to do without a cpu that runs off of your chipset out of the box).

Scratch the SSD. Sounds like pretty bad advice in the year 2017, but hear me out. If you only get the mechanical harddrive right now, not only will you save yourself about 100$ but you also won't regret buying such a small-capacity SSD later. I'd say save up some cash and buy a 480gb or even 960gb Corsair Force LE SSD later down the line.

You might want to consider buying the Asus RX480 DUAL 8GB instead. The DUAL cards are a bit cheaper than the STRIX ones and they are white, so it would also fit your color-scheme

While its a good thing not to max out the wattage of a powersupply you could easily get the slightly cheaper Corsair 450w unit and still be fine.
