Ramdrive - 2 or 4 sticks?

I want my next (and first) build to have a ramdrive for ShadowPlay, I should go with 2x8GB on a dual-channel-capable mainboard as opposed to 4x4GB, right?

Ram drives aren't worth it. Had one for giggles and while speed was amazing, there is zero real world benefit. If you want holy balls speed, go for a fast m.2 solution.

Apparently? I've read dual channel is practically unnoticable for gaming, however shouldn't I get bigger bandwith with using 4 modules?

It's not much faster than an SSD but I will use it for ShadowPlay instead of shredding through SSDs.

one is for sure  - you will upgrade (if you need ofc) later easier with 2x8 now

also u need pcie ssd for matching speeds  - my ramdisk have read and write of about 6 gb/s on the laptop and 3 on my pc

What exactly do I need an PCIe SSD for? Couldn't I use the ramdrive as buffer and save files on the HDD?

No difference what so ever. I would suggest 2x8 GB sticks.

...In terms of what? Also going to record at FullHD, 60FPS though.

there's no difference between 2X8 and 4X4

 

although an HDD should be enough for even high bitrate 4K capture.

You'll get the same bandwidth, since it's dual channel in both cases. 

Other things equal, I prefer 2 dimms instead of 4 because sometimes it's harder to get 4 dimms to work at the speed you want (or the manufacturer promised), plus you have free slots just in case. But I would only think about that if prices are very similar.
