1-2%. This doesn't mean 1-2FPS

It's factory overclocked. Also, that's not FPS, it's relative performance in %, the difference is more than 2FPS. Look at the benchmarks for the individual games in the review to see the FPS differences.

Because the GPU is exactly the same. Board partner cards can be quieter, run cooler, and subjectively look better.

But the same GPU means the performance is the same.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

But they saying for example GTX 1080 ti ref - 90 fps

GTX 1080 TI STRIX - 92 fps

Could be clock speed is different or margin of error.

Custom cards are often factory overclocked, which translates to more heat, more performance. And this is where the beefier cooler comes to play.

The overclocking potential is up to the lottery, not who made the card.

But few people want a hair dryer in their case, so we buy board partners.

Any ideas about thermal throttling? What are max temps and how much fps will i lost when thermal hits?

they are based on the same GPU, so thermal throttling will affect both the same, and they should kick in roughly at the same temp

But i ask about referent 1080 ti. What are max temps load and how much i lost fps then .

But how is on stock fan settings?

It's alright, but a aftermarket card is definitely much quieter and cooler in most cases. I would honestly stay away from reference cards.

Founders? Sucks.

The Founders card is not meant for the average gamer. They're meant to be used in racks, places with poor airflow, and SLI.

FE for small cases (slim or mini-towers) and SLI.

AIB for everything else.

Thermal throttling should kick in about 90C+. How much FPS you lose really depends on the extent of the thermal throttling, as the more the card has to reduce clock speeds and power draw, the more FPS you'll lose. You'll lose less FPS if the GPU is only just hitting the thermal throttling point, but if it's really hot in the case and the card's not getting enough air, it will throttle more to keep temps down, losing more FPS. It's hard to tell you exactly how much FPS you'll lose as it changes for difference conditions.

From basically the 700 series and up (pretty much anything with GPU Boost 2.0 or greater), the reference Nvidia cards seem to like running at 82-84C, pretty much regardless of your settings. If you look at Techpowerup's temperature results, both the 1080Ti FE and the Titan XP run at 84C under load.

Honestly, if you're using a case that has decent airflow, try to go for a card with an aftermarket cooler, it will work better and chances of thermal throttling will go down significantly. In their testing, the Strix card only got up to 69C.

My case is Centurion Cooler Master 590. Its big case from 2008 year.

Any ideas? Will it throttle much more ?
