I mean, you've sort of got it. Basically, binary would mean that humans would come in 2 "types" (the meaning of binary is the same as in the data sense), and non-binary would mean that they don't. In gender, particularly, binary would mean that there are 2 genders (male and female), and non-binary means that there are more ways of identifying. Some people feel more in the middle of male/female, and some people like they don't fit in either camp.

This is distinct from genetic sex, which is understood to be binary, with some rare cases where the genes get mixed or muddled.

Maybe that was the term I saw, non-binary.

If that was a response to my post, then yeah, but the hyphen is optional I guess. Doesn't really matter whether you use it or not.

Binary is 1 or 0.

A non binary gender would be anything that is not male or female.

Binary means one of two things. (0/1, on/off, male/female)

Non binary is a spectrum, anything from one point to another. With non binary gender, it is talking about the traits someone has, and where the average of their traits would end up on the "Manly" to "Girly" spectrum.

Honestly I don't think it is something worth thinking about, you are never going to be asked that because the data from that would be qualitative and undecipherable.

In terms of humans. I am thinking its either androgenous looks neither male nor female, or looks like Boy George.

All I can find is data binary.

Forget it, it is totally made up **** in my eyes. All the talk about people identify as X, Y, Z or whatever is total crap.

No problem if someone disagrees. It is just my opinion.

I dont know if it is what one feels, or if it is just plain old 'what is'

Like a Hermaphrodite is a person that has both sex organs.

I used the term Androgynous, but maybe its actually Ambiguous, that is if you cant tell what sex they are. Some do it on purpose, others do not, they are just too plain with no identifying features, like breasts, masculine facial hair, jewelery, makeup. I see a few in the asian populations like that, the ones I see that do it on purpose are younger and like I said previously I am seeing more and more of it. In the past it was a very rare occasion.
