PS4 displays on 720p when 1080i is selected

I have a 1080i tv and a PS4. The PS4 works fine, but the PS4 always displays 720p when 1080i is selected. What is wrong with my PS4? And why does it display as 720p instead of 1080i? 

DUE TO MANY REQUESTS I HAVE LEFT THIS FORUM FOREVER.

why do you have 1080i? 720p will be better, 1080i is a old outdated fad, most new gen devices cant display it.

Can you recommend me a cheap 1080p tv under $200?

just legit go to wal-mart. Most low end Vizio's are fine

I found a 2017 lg uhd tv that costs $400, and it is missing hdr and uhd upscaling. Should I get that one?

Yeah, Vizio isn't nearly as crappy as it used to be. Also if you don't mind buying used pawn shops are an excellent place to go for cheap AF TV's, sometimes you'll even be able to get a good brand name for next to nothing.
