Still waiting for Ryzen...

So i just received my 1800x in the mail today, however i'm still waiting on the motherboard. The retailer hasn't received them yet, and don't even have an ETA. I can wait patiently, no problem, but was curious if anyone else here in Europe has a similar "issue". I'm in the Netherlands by the way.

I think the AM4 motherboards are in shortage everywhere. Here in Brazil for sure.

ik heb hem bij azerty besteld, msi x370 carbon. ik vondt het best wel raar dat je gewoon een pre-order kon plaatsen, en nu meer dan een week na de launch weten ze nog steeds niks over. Maarja, first world problems.

I really considered Asus, how did yours die? I saw that JayzTwoCents' asus board died too, pushed an over clock a bit too far or so.

i pre-ordered on the 24th, it pissed me off a bit. Whats the point of calling it a pre-order if it wont even be shipped out to you on the day of the release.

This is my second build, and the first time experiencing a CPU launch. I truly hope this doesn't happen every time a new CPU comes out...

I git my 1700x last week, and my preordered MSI X370 Carbon is shipping from Newegg as we speak. Got an email yesterday, they finally had my board to satisfy my preorder.

Many people were saying it needed a CMOS clear due to RAM speed issues.

But I don't do ASUS ever.

Why did you buy a 1800X? The 1700X is so much better value.

The boards are on a boat atm.  The first run was a limited supply flown in by air. Vendors should be getting stock in soon.  I forgot where I read this, but I think it was in part due to the Chinese New Year.

 

Asus has their bios situation fixed now, btw.

I do a lot of work in Catia and Solidworks, so i wasnt going for value as much as i was going for a top of the line AMD workstation processor. And since i wasnt going for best value for the buck, i wanted that extra from the 1800x.

I suppose so.  Like I mentioned, I forgot where I read it...but it was mentioned boards should be coming in stock soon.  The main reason I replied was just to link to the Asus Crosshair thread because if you ordered the Crosshair I was just making sure you were aware they have the issue with their bricked boards fixed and to update the bios to the one mentioned in that thread.

I appreciate the info! I've gone with MSI so we will see if they have similar issues, heck they are bound to have some problems with this new platform too. We will see how fast the bugs get ironed out. Just a bit annoying that getting a board takes so long.

Update: The retailer still has no ETA on MSI am4 boards, they do however have batches coming in of the Asus boards. Hence i changed my order to an Asus crosshair hero vi board. We will see how it works out.
