EDIT: that was the software i used on my old system

wait, it usally parkes cores when you don't play, but when you play windows activates them again. So when you unparked cores even in 'idle state' you got improvement? Did you get improvement in games? Because I think it is still same thing because windows activates them in games as the article above said.

it was about 20% over all, there was a icrease in peformance with just day to day task such as internet browsing.

the most noticable difference was in bf3.

all i can say is just try it, whats the worst that can happen?

just make a back up before you try it

I tried that and it produced a lot of heat on my stock cooled cpu. I didn't like it and I didn't see improvement in fps

I experienced 10-15% in games. BF4 was running at 70FPS average and was boosted up to 83FPS average (Ultra settings). I haven't noticed temperature rise after installing it (i7 3820 at 4.8GHz, 1.43V cooled by a Corsair H110).

I will have to try this out myself! At first I didn't think it would make any difference as windows should manage this well, but it seems that obviously people see gains. Def worth a try!

What are some mods that makes stuff faster?

Its not a mods, but modification of actual Windows files in iso. This mean taking full operational ex. 7 cutting it down from unneeded features and services, adding registry tweaks, adding better looks here and there. From 5.2GB ive got 1.5-2GB iso file. Many people do that and share it, because they will work on any PC. Mine for example will work only with mine.

And you wanna go into

Unattended Windows Discussion & Support

Ive got some personal experience since im doing it from XP times. Then i went for the record (my own) and my XP was only 141MB. Gave the copy to a friend whos teacher said it wasnt possible for Windows XP to have this less weight. He got A+... Anyways - always read and think before you act. Applying changes to 7 will take about 1-2h even if you have a high end machine. To make custom 7 (i named it Howling Night) it took me about a year.

I unparked my cores and I didn't see any noticeable difference in performance because my CPU isn't the limiting factor in my system. It is possible that in benchmarks there is a performance difference but if you can't tell just by looking at it who cares.
