Can't find a console killer build... At console size. Convince me to not to buy a console.

Go to solution Solved by joshforester,

If it's just for gaming and price is a key factor there's nothing wrong with going with a console.

I absolutely love ultra compact builds and by that I mean sub 7L cases which are more or less the same footprint as 17" laptops. I move to various locations a lot and even the RVZ02 is heavy to me. But the pricing on crowdfunded cases is just brutal. Yes I know it's low production hand crafted stuff there but I can't afford to pay the same price as a console for just a case for a secondary gaming system. The A4 SFX cost more than a PS4 and I know it's made by Lian Li but come one. The only high production case that I've found so far is the ML06-E and ML09 from Silverstone but then again I'll need a GTX 1050 LP.  Which cost the same as a used Xbox One.

Now to be fair I'm more about family entertainment that pure performance and graphics and I don't want redundancy with my PC so there is that.

I am 99% sure he could find other applications for a quality light weight laptop that would justify the cost since he travels a lot.

If you want to get a console, get one. Just remember games are going to be more expensive, and if there are any online games you will have to pay for Xbox live/PSPlus. These are factors to consider.

And at $2000 it's far cheaper than a console.

Razer blade isn't worth 2,000. If he wants a laptop you can find a 1050Ti i7-7700HQ laptop for less than $1,000

Why should we convince you? Consoles are fine. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of PC gamers also own a console.

Make sure to quote or tag me (@JoostinOnline) or I won't see your response!

The razor blade was an example of a product that meets OP's requirements.

Thanks for the suggestions guys also as far as personal rig goes I've got a ML08 which still breaks my back (I'm thin lol) and a mid tower which is not moving anywhere at all and both have decent specs so I'm not looking for Uncompromised Gaming Performance On The Go. I already have a thin and light laptop that I don't use for gaming. So really for less than 200$ I can't really think of anything. The Razer Blade 14 is 2000$ and is less powerful than my 1000$ rig.

The Sentry is nice but the case itself is almost the price of a used Xbox One. The A4 SFX is more expensive than almost every single component I'm gonna put inside.

For the first time in my life, and only in this one case, I'm gonna say this: Get a console.

And if you really want a pc, buy a chromebook (you said you have a laptop, so probably don't. nees this)
