PC no power up. CPU led flashes red.

Okay I need serious help

PC Specs:
ASUS GTX 1070 8GB OC
16GB HyperX Savage RAM
i5-7600K CPU
Gigabyte Z270X Motherboard
List here; https://www.amazon.co.uk/registry/wishlist/3A57N5RLPNXJR/ref=cm_sw_r_other_an_wl_o_.YLUybT79X4RM

My problem:
Fresh new build, everything seems to be right except CPU. The PC won't start up and the CPU LED flashed red once and cuts off, identifying it as a CPU problem.
I suspect the 8-pin (4+4) to be the problem though I could be wrong. The 8 pin connector goes in fine, but the actual shape of each if the little slots don't match up (Y'know some are squre and some have one side curved like a castle gate) so I think the power isn't getting to the CPU correctly.

I've tried everything that's coms to mind; taking CPU out and putting it back in, the pins are fine, I loosened the screws on mobo & that managed to get the red LED fan to also light up for a second whenever I try to boot. I've tried different RAM slots etc.

Sorry for the long post but tried to give you as much info that comes to mind.

Are you by chance accedentally plugging in the 8pin PCI connector into the CPU 4+4 slot?

If you have a modular PSU make sure that all the cables are in correct spot.

Make sure that there is nothing on the motherboard that could freak it out l. I once had a molex connector resting on the motherboard that ever so slightly was touching 2 pins of something togeather making the PC not start. Also make sure it's clean.

Try a different PSU maybe

Did you like the gold triangle on the CPU with the triangle on the motherboard?

If all of these things are fine, then you might have to assume that you got a broken product and you need to return it, sometimes fragile computer parts get beat up along the way.
