I have been struggling to make this build the best that I can. If I can keep it below $850 including the monitor I would love to see what you guys can do.

1. Bad GPU. I have it in my current rig. It was cheap at the time I bought it but now I regret it

2. As @dizmo said don't get FX it's old af

3. Why such a generic peripherals?

4. Spend a bit more on Seasonic S12II PSU

5. Get an SSD + HDD instead of hybrid drives

1. What's a good AMD in the $100 range? I don't feel like changing up my build as I have put weeks into coming up with what it is.

2. What's so bad about the hybrid?

3. Monitor isn't a big concern for me but I prefer a bigger one.

4. Would my current build do ok with games like Arma III and Dayz?

I only plan on getting an FX until the opportunity to upgrade to the Ryzen 1700x comes around.

Would it be a sufficient temporary?

It would probably be fine, but it would be a complete wast of money investing in the older FX series. You would have to purchase a new motherboard as well as new Ram, because Ryzen uses the AM4 socket which is not compatible with am3 cpus, and Ryzen uses DDR4, which does not support DDR3.

if you only have $850 to spend on a pc with monitor and peripherals and you're just gaming, don't bother with ryzen 7 as it's pretty expensive and performance is worse than the i7 in games.

I upped my price point and I have switched to an Intel setup with DDR4 ram and a pretty updated MOBO with WiFi integrated which cancels out the adapter I would've needed

That motherboard does NOT have built in Wi-Fi.

IDK how you managed to tack on $150 onto the cost of my build and actually lost performance (no SSD).  There is no point in getting a $200 Z270 mobo with a locked CPU.

I didn't lose performance by not having an SSD because the drive I picked is a hybrid which has both functions

IDK how you managed to tack on $150 onto the cost of my build and actually lost performance (no SSD).  There is no point in getting a $200 Z270 mobo with a locked CPU.

...and what is it that you expect from the 8GB of flash based cache?

You can't even put the OS on it.  Speeds will still be limited to 7200RPM nearly the entire time you use it.

I added a GTX 1070 paired with a 2560x1440 IPS/60Hz panel for just $20 more.
