Ryzen 1700 and 1700X

Just looking at ordering but unsure whether or not to go for the X or not. Apart from the automatic overclocking is their anything else. Also would that automatic overclocking make a difference when playing and stream or rendering.

The X version has the XFR technology ( I ordered it, full review to come), but accordingly they are supposed to offer higher overclocking, which since more cores typically can't be as clocked as high as fewer cores (4 vs 8 for example) I decided to go with the 1700x.

I would rather agree on what we share, than fight on what we don't. - Myself

As AMD said in their press conference, the X is supposed to be for overclocking. So if you would like to overclock your AMD Ryzen processor, go for the X version.
