I will most likely be getting the ryzen 1700x, what's the best graphics card for this? Can the ryzen run 4K as I was watching Linus and he mentioned something about it.

cpus rarely have anything to do with running a certain resolution but probably a 1080/1080ti(if announced)/titan x pascal

if the benchmarks hold true, then yes, the 1700x will be able to do 4k paired with a 1070, 1080/180ti, or something from amds soon to be announced vega

Wait for the benchmarks, for a 4k gpu it depends on the game. light games can run on 4k with a rx480 for heavy games a gtx1070 or a gtx1080 is needed.

I am going to be waiting for benchmarks yes but wanted to look at maybe upgrading graphics card. Would it need two gpu as I might not have the money for that.

unless you play AAA games all the time a card like 480 can handle casual games like overwatch.

Depends on what you do in 4K. If gaming then what games you play

If he likes low settings and/or 30fps then I'd agree. Some games (like The Division) used to cane me even with 2 1080's and the details maxed out. I'd say a 1080 minimum, but everyone is different :)

i am assuming that most people don't play the division, that's why i stated overwatch as a game that most people play, 4k is not really worth it currently.

Ryzen only has 16 lanes for graphics, for multiple cards and 4k you want Broadwell-E since a 6850k has 40 lanes. Wait for the price drop.

If anyone asks you never saw me.
