now if only amd chipsets supported pcie 3.0 and they fixed that darn ipc issue.

Not by much, it will help when doing 3 and 4 way SLI/Crossfire, but even 2 and 3 way don't see a performance decrease.

How is it too soon?

BF3 was released in 2011. DICE has released a BF game every 2 years.
