More info about the MSI Aegis 3

Hey guys. Just decided to give as much information as I could. Here is more information about the Aegis 3.

First thing I did when I got the Aegis 3 was to play a lot of games at ultra-settings just because I could and also because I could finally say “yhup! I play games on ultra-settings at 60 fps with no issues” to my friends. It was a truly amazing experience and obviously, I recorded myself so I could cherish the amazing moment.

                                                                                         vlcsnap-2017-02-19-22h17m41s201.png   vlcsnap-2017-02-19-22h16m58s157.png    vlcsnap-2017-02-19-22h14m29s152.png

I was a bit surprised when the Aegis 3 arrived because I was expecting a big PC but I got tricked by all the packaging wrapped around the Aegis 3. The Aegis 3 is a really compact PC. Along with the PC, you get the MSI Interceptor DS 4200 gaming keyboard and the MSI Interceptor DS B1 gaming mouse. The keyboard has special membrane switches which makes the keys have a mechanical feeling and I did go ahead to test this out and they are really good. Even when I tested them out while playing some games, they performed well. The mouse has a nice ergonomic design which makes it fit comfortably when using it. The mouse also has 6 customisable buttons that can be mapped to different functions.

The Aegis 3 has a lot of features both at the rear and front i/o which I am really happy with. You get a USB type C port, 2 USB 2.0 ports, Headphones in and Mic out port and a HDMI port for easy access when using VR. Sadly, I don’t have any VR device to test this. The rear i/o is pretty diverse. You get 4 USB 3.1 type A and 2 USB 2.0 ports, VR link which is a one click VR and HDMI-out port and so on. A lot of good features to help you connect a lot of compatible devices. The best feature for me is probably the PS/2 port because I still have this one special really old keyboard that I would love to use from time to time and I am really happy I can plug it into the Aegis 3.

                                                                                                                                              vlcsnap-2017-02-21-22h46m33s693.png

After a long time of searching around the case, I finally found the power supply. The bottom of the Aegis 3 is housed by the power supply. It is custom made to help separate the power supply from the other components as this will help reduce the heat generated and help get lower temperatures than normal.

                                                                                                                                           vlcsnap-2017-02-22-00h09m31s570.png

All in all, the Aegis 3 is lovely small form factor PC looks really cool and performance really well. If you plan on getting yourself an Aegis 3, you have the option of getting an Intel core i7-7700 or i5-7400 processor and you also have the option of getting a MSI GTX 1070 OR 1060 gaming 8GB GDDR5 graphics card. It comes with the Windows 10 Home operating system as well.
