Which AMD Card to pair with Ryzen?

EggEater

I've been thinking about leaving Nvidia/Intel for awhile now and today's release of the new "Ryzen" CPU's have sealed the deal for me. In the next couple months, I will be making an all AMD build and selling off my old PC.

Here's the thing.

Is it worth it to wait for AMD's Vega GPU lineup, Go with an RX480, or maybe a R9 Fury isn't out of the question?

Please leave your thoughts and lets have a friendly discussion in this thread!

[Keep in mind that we don't have a confirmed price for any Vega GPU's]

Well vega is still 1-4 months away... Depends on what you have now... if you cant wait, then RX 480 in cross fire will be the way to go if you must have AMD cards.

well if vega is as good as ryzen then i would definitely wait for that. also a fury is faster than an rx480 most of the time so if you can pick a used one up for a good deal use that for now :)

Honestly, it depends. You say you will be making a Ryzen build in a couple of months, if that is the case wait for Vega. Now if you mean in a month, then I would probably get a 480 as a place holder card.

GPU: XFX RX 7900 XTX

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D

They're having a conference for Vega next week so if you wanna wait you can. I wouldn't buy an AMD card right now since they'll be made """"obsolete"""" soon, in reference to my previous statement.

Well, right now the RX 480, but Vega should've come out (or at least had a lot more said about it) by the time Ryzen becomes widely available, so just keep your ears open in the mean time.

Vega, but just got an email from Newegg with some good pricing on RX480's, like 8GB models in the 200-220 US price range after rebates and a free copy of DOOM

if I did it I would want Doom, that's like the next game on my list to buy the next time a good sale comes around. And I have NO GPU in my desktop currently, so I NEED one to game with.

I would like to hit 60fps or higher on maximum settings at 1080p. Which all these cards I listed should be able to do. I also wouldn't be apposed to a card that can hit higher resolutions.
