How can I use my laptop speakers to play phone audio

As title says.  How can I use my laptop speakers) or connected headset to play audio that on my phone.  I want to run YouTube on my phone through the same headphones that I listen to my games on.

Plug the phone into the laptops line in or mic port, if the laptop has a combo jack you will need an adapter. You can use a 3,5mm audio cable (male to male). If you dont have a microphone/line in port on your laptop at all, you can get a cheap USB soundcard (couple bucks on eBay) and use that instead.

 

After you have connected the phone go to windows sound manager (right click the speaker icon in taskbar -> recording devices), select the device your phone audio is coming through -> properties -> listen to this device

 

If the audio is low make sure the headphone volume on your phone is at max.

Why on earth wouldn't you just run youtube in the background on your laptop? 

 

The real way to do something like this properly would be to buy a mixer.
