8x won't bottleneck a 1080.

It Will, just very slightly. Id say a 3 fps decrease.

what motherboard do you have?

im not worried about bottlenecks i just wanna know why i cant get signal through the diplayport outputs none of the 3 ports on the card will put out signal except for the hdmi and dvi. my 970 that was in the pc before worked fine through displayport.

make sure the DP cable fully goes in, while the PC is still ON remove the HDMI cable from both ends FIRST then install the displayport cable.

with only displayport connected try turning the monitor off fully (unplug power cable) then wait a minute and reconnect.

well consider that the TX is faster than 1080, a slight decrease is to be expected with the top-tier card but it should affect the lower end cards less and less

idk

Well it also depends on res and game, Ryse here (and WoW) all benefit quite a lot, and this is with a 980
