The only people what would need those extra phases are people doing ln2/extreme overclocking. for normal people its a gimmick that never comes into play. I found a whole bunch of boards with 6+ rear usb, some with type c then mixed levels of onboard usb for front panel. All of them are around 200 or less, theres a lot of boards so i stopped looking once i got to the $200 mark since its alot of work.

Forgot to mention also ! Overcloking  ! In all cases what do you recommend? 4K ,SLI , overclocking future proofing.

you dont need boards like that to overclock, any z270 board will overclock fine. I'm currently looking for a board with a similar amount of rear usb ports thats cheaper.

I swear the old gen mobo's had tons of usbs for cheaper price , atm none of Z170 or Z270 board have many usbs at the expense of cheaper pricing. I guess if you don't count front panel xD. Maybe the 8th gen line might have bring out something nice

im seeing lots of boards that haev 6 rear usb and a type c for around 150, still looking for one with 8 on the back plus type c

I've checked newegg , all I saw was 5 Max, figured since this hero has 10 usbs to start with , I found it ideal.

My last mobo was in 2011 , P8Z68-V Pro. I might just go for the Asus Z270 Prime 150 Bucks us 220 canadian.

Any z170 or z270 is fine for overclocking and in my opinion I think the ASRock Fatality mobo is a good choice I just think that the Maximus motherboards are a bit overkill for any casual/ gaming PC. If it supports the things you want then that's good a motherboard does not affect fps at all.

I understand. But what's the point of a Maximus board then , I heard that it has better stability due to more power phases , is that just a selling scheme ?  What type of individual would OPT for a Maximus ? Yes Itdoes have M.2 slots which Up's the prices for people who want that speed.

but yeah, any z270 board will be good, just avoid the badly reviewed ones and i would also wait a bit more to see if some have major problems and such.

 

the z170-a from asus was widely sold and recognized as a good board, maybe it's younger brother the z270-a will be similar.

The only people what would need those extra phases are people doing ln2/extreme overclocking. for normal people its a gimmick that never comes into play. I found a whole bunch of boards with 6+ rear usb, some with type c then mixed levels of onboard usb for front panel. All of them are around 200 or less, theres a lot of boards so i stopped looking once i got to the $200 mark since its alot of work.

the type of person that would go for a maximum motherboard is a person like a video editor or someone like that that has to make sure it hardly ever has a problem. but it is rare that your motherboard would have . A power surge. but it can happen, but as motherboards get more advanced they all would have surge protection.
