Will I Ever Need 32GB of RAM?
I have 16GB in my computer and the most I have ever seen it use was around 7GB when gaming. I would say with a windows 10 computer 8GB would be fine 16GB would be safe. I would personally go with 2x8GB because its good for now, and gives you the upgrade path if you need more. I ran my last computer for almost 8 years and when I first built it 2GB of ram with windows vista was plenty, and most people would have said 8GB was complete overkill. But the last couple of years it was struggling with some games even after upgrading it to windows 7 and 4GB. If you are the kind of person that gets a new computer every 3 years or so then 8 GB should be good for now. If you keep them forever like I do then make sure you have an upgrade path and get 2 sticks. if you decide to get 4x4GB make sure to check the compatibility with your ram and motherboard. Not all ram will run correctly with 4 sticks in all boards.
