Guys come help me with this build

mafioso

https://pcpartpicker.com/user/sythanh14/saved/#view=WQkbvK

Above is a build I've just come up with. Tell me if this system will boot up and work. I want the cheapest build possible with i7 kabylake and ability to upgrade later. Providing I could find or make a cheap case one my own. Thank you for any help!

Mobo: ASRock B150M Pro4s | CPU: Intel core i7 7700 with stock cooler | Storages: 2x80GB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm + Zotac 120GB | Memory: 2x4GB Kingston HyperX Fury | PSU: 400W HYN 80+ | GPU: PowerColor Radeon R9 270X 2GB | Tower: an old one from the other decade | Monitor: ASUS Widescreen 900p + ViewSonic FHD| Speaker: microlab

I would say get a i5 kabylake, but I won't be one of those guys to suggest that.

What is your budget exactly..?

i'm not really on budget, actually my amount of plain cash could afford this system and in a few months i could maximize it, so i just do not want to upgrade the cpu

An i7 non K costs just as much a K i5 and gives you better performance....

Overall the CPU is just fine. I'd just get a little bit more RAM if you can, DDR3 or DDR4. What GPU are you planning to get also?

BTW i'd also buy a bigger PSU.

Please specify what your goal is with this build. If you don't plan on gaming there is no need to upgrade the PSU.

I'd recommend a hyper 212 Evo since they're really cheap and offer great cooling (they're also available everywhere!)

If you're planning on doing gaming you'll need a graphics card, if you plan on doing content creation you might need one as well as well as more ram (an i7 would also be better in that case)

Please tell me what you're looking to get out of this PC and ill be more than happy to help

well i picked a ddr4 because i saw the mobo just do not support ddr3, and the gpu ima go for will probably be rx480, or gtx1070

As a rule of thumb, only Intel's K CPUs don't come with hetasinks...

well initially it should help me deal with video editing, VMs (add RAM later), coding, and I'm really planning to stream my favorite games (maybe?? dota 2, csgo) oh and hell yea I do a lot of content creation and still working on my low end dell 3542 for a couple of years now i really need a jump

I'd recommend getting a low-end GPU like the 1050ti or something and getting an unlocked CPU (not a necessity)

16-32 gigs of ram are highly recommended (almost crucial with VMS)  and i wouldn't go with an i5 as your VM is gonna take some physical cores (depending on what VM you use)

For the investment that the Hyper 212 Evo is I'd recommend getting it (it's 20-30 bucks)

Edit: This will run you a bit more but i'd say its a good investment in the long term.

If you make up your mind on what you want to go with (locked unlocked processor for example) i'd love to help you put together a build!

i'll think about unlocked CPU later, but is rx480 better than 1050? i believe i heard somebody says amd is better at h.264 encoding, and i also think unlocked CPU is quite power hungy, 7700 is reported to consume a maximum amount of 90W while the TDP of 7700K is 150W

yea i agree that i will need a big fan when it comes to gpu but initially when a gpu is not set yet, i think it's just not urgent to get one

You won't be able to overclock an unlocked cpu unless you have a z270 board.  So think about it now, unless you are fine replacing your mobo too.

rx480 is definitely better than a 1050.

definitely i just forgot that for a while, actually a z170 could work with UC as well, and it comes to a whole different scenario hmm

Looks ok, but I'd save up a little more and get at least a 1TB HDD and 8GB of RAM. The price leap shouldn't be that great.

If the shop you buy it from can update the BIOS and the BIOS supports Kaby, then definitely go that route. You'll save quite a bit. See if you can find a higher quality PSU, not sure what the power is like in your area but if it's not the greatest cheap PSUs will die very quickly.

Depending on the use of the computer.

DDR3 isn't compatible with the CPU.

Depends what you do, if you're streaming and such I do believe it helps a bit.

The 480 slaughters the 1050.

The 7700 has a TDP of 65w, the 7700k is 91w.
