if i had to choose i would probably get the one with the strix 1070. much better cooler and will have a greater impact on performance than the motherboard.

Why are you playing those games with this beast? Buy BF1 ffs, get some AAA titles, it's a big waste of that GPUs potential. I like the first one btw, would look very nice. And noise is never a problem with builds today unless you  use some cheap ass speakers. Aftermarket GPUs are in general very efficient and keep cards cool on low rpm, and most have fans that don't spin up until they reach a certain temp. Unfortunately i can't say anything about the price cause i don't use dollars so...

yes, that would be a good computer, but there is a lot of ways to make it better, eg. 1080 and i7

I am, as he is asking for an opinion on what system to build, and the simile answer is neither, get another system, as you get more power and performance with another build, that being said, I also aint posting what he should build A) cause I normally can't be bothered at looking at themes, B) he asked us not to

Struggled to get it down to $1400 as you can tell, $80 over, but a 7700k + 1080 in there.

Could always leave the SSD out for now and add that in later on, or go for a cheaper motherboard, i only chose that one because of the white parts on it to match the aesthetics.

there is no i7 or 1080 in that list, which are easy to get in that budget.

FINALLY SOMEONE WHO REALISES THAT YOU CAN GET AN i7 AND A 1080 FOR THAT PRICE, THANK FUCK.

you could possibly find a Z170 chip set board which follows the theme for a bit cheaper (don't know what the bad things of going down from a Z270 to a Z170 are)

there is other cheaper 240GB SSDs which probably are the better in this case.

you could also save $10 on the RAM (probably not worth it though in this case in order to follow the theme)

apart from these, very minor changes (which aren't necessary at all, they all together would only lower the budget by $20-$30, so yea) the list looks good (you do it much cheaper if you ignore all themes though, but same time a nice looking PC is always nice)

Guys please do not judge the processor by i5 or i7, overclocked i5 7600k can sometimes be better then some i7..

your budget is more than enough for an i7 and gtx 1080, some games are already having the i5 struggle with a gtx 1070. might as well get the i7 since there are performance boosts from the extra threads.

I can do that but when suggesting changes to a PC, I don't change core component choices like the CPU, RAM amount and GPU unless requested

yea, the problem is though those core components are the most important in terms of performance, so if they can be swapped out for another, better components they should be, with in reason, (e.g. no point having kaby lake over sky, unless you desperately need 4k Netflix, so you can chill)

One is an asus dual and one is an asus strix card. The strix card has a much better cooling solution so I would go with the build using the strix card.
