Where do you live? Is there a catalog or website we could look at to see pricing in your area?

Even if it is expensive a g2 or rmx would be your best bet, i had a cx550w a few agos and it blew out after only like 4 months of use, the power supply a important piece your shouldn't cheap out on. (seen that the rmx is more expensive)

Edit: look at the tiers here

The CX600 / M models are inferior to the updated CX*50M models. If you are going to buy the CX series, go for the CX550M model. Or the Corsair Vengeance 550w (same platform as the CX550M but with higher quality caps, rifle bearing fan, and multi-rail configuration).

Spot on here, while the cx series altogether isn't good, the cx550m will be good enough, as long as it isn't no name and has halfway decent components you should be fine

For a single GTX 970 you don't need a crazy high-end PSU but many suggested a G2 or RMx and I'd not shed a tear if you bought either. That said, if an EVGA G2 or GQ, perhaps a GS if it's cheaper, saves you money then they're all good options. A Seasonic M12 or Antec HCG is a bit worse but could absolutely do.

|PSU Tier List /80 Plus Efficiency| PSU stuff if you need it.
