get a 8350 and a 970 chipset instead, with themoney left over you can get 8GB's of ram instead of 4, 4 will limit things A LOT

yes, everything is good. do you already own the 650ti? because the 700w power supply is a bit overkill for the system. you could get a 500/550 watt psu and take the savings and like i said get a 660ti or 760. but that's a good mid range build.

it's about a $20 difference between 4 and 8 gigs, should just upgrade regardless

Generally it is good though the 650 ti will begin showing its age within a year or two so you will need to plan on an upgrade. PSU is a little overkill, not that that is a bad thing. Also the ram is a little on the low end, you should be shooting for 8 gigs on a modern system. Just my two cents, good luck on the build.

I'm going to jump ahead and assume that you're planning this PC for gaming, if you do

I'd suggest a 6300 with 970 motherboard. and a higher end graphics card.

This is a very good suggestion, use the money you save with an AMD CPU/mobo and get a better GPU.

If possible at least upgrade the ram, 4 gigs is not very much on a modern system. Go with a lower wattage PSU to get the extra memory. And plan on a new GPU in the next year or so.

I hope you don't mind if I ask why you don't like AMD, and is your dislike for AMD apply on graphics cards as well?

h87 mobo? 4670k cpu?

get a z87 mobo to make use of the overclocking capabilities

or fx8350 cpu with the gigbyte 990fx ud3 board

and new gpu..

look at the r9 280x isnt badly priced

Hmm, ok than.. Although I still think the best thing you can do is buying the 6300 and I still think this is the king of budget CPUs. You can go with the 4670K, it's a better CPU (if you don't take the price into consideration) and I'd recommend it to some people. but because you will have to get a lower end GPU. The pure performance in gaming will be lower. I'd try to increase the budget if you don't plan to buy a 6300. So you can get a 7870 or higher to go with that i5 4670K

I doubt you even need an i5 for a 650 :/

Either get a 760 with that or downgrade to an i3 and get more ram dude 4gb is definitely not enough need about 8gb at least...

no point getting an i3 they are shyte in comparison, may as well get 6300/8350, alot better performance and the 8350 can compete with the 4770k

But If you are gonna get a good cpu you should match it up with the performance of your GPU... Only makes sense... a 650 really only needs an i3... doubt there would be bottle necks...760 = 660 ti

Yes but a i5 allows for a later upgrade of the GPU which the OP mentioned he is planning for.

i do understand pairing cpu with gpu, that 650 is a bit err

even so, with the price difference between 8350 and 4670k/4770k you would still have money to spend on a new gpu

Then get the 3570K over the 4670K they preform the same and you'll save some money. The 4670K also runs REALLY hot, the 3570K runs a fair bit cooler so it should last you a bit longer.
