Got you covered pal.

After years of using an old Intel Pentium4 g2020 (2.9GHz duel core, no hyper threading, no overclocking.. hate it) I am FINALLY looking for an upgrade and i'd like to stick with Intel. My budget is around $300(us) including a motherboard (I can wait to get more) as of now i'm considering an i5 7500k and waiting another two weeks to a month to come back for motherboard (Considering an rog strix z270 mobo) seriously, I HATE THIS CHIP SET!

Please tell me a better deal than this (Also, who at Intel thought this was a good deal?:

I'd like to stick to amazon because i have a prime subscription

If you have the money go for the 7600k, you will be able to overclock it down the line and keep it from getting old.

It's like a $40 premium... either it's cheep or the i5 is expensive...

Probably around 2-3 weeks away. It's AMD, but the IPC is on par with what we've seen from Intel and it's cheaper and there's loads of low end parts and everything's overclockable.

It's great.

idk

You know what? I will buy the 7600k and an empty 7700k box just for that reason.

Kaby Lake (7th gen) has issues with the heat spreader being really strange (like a 30c drop when you take it off!) so I still recommend Skylake. Boards are cheaper too, which is a plus.

idk

It's marketing. People see a striked out price and assume they're getting an awesome deal. Very few people actually comparison shop, or look at what the original price used to be.

Really? Isn't it supposed to be on par with Broadwell? I don't think it's toe to toe with Skylake.

Erm, it makes sense. You're paying more for a higher base clock and an unlocked chip. Both are features that are worth the added price to a huge majority.
