Has anyone tried using this riser in a different case? I have a phanteks case, and I want to know if there will be any interference.

I used this in the Phanteks Enthoo SE with no issues.   I have 8 PCI-e lanes I can use and it covers/uses 7, which allows me a very small one on top.

Get a thermaltake cable, I saw it works really nice for some people.

There are videos on youtube where people make DIY vertical stands in their cases. It is not a rocket science, but a tedious work.

I know, but the coolermaster is the cleanest and (questionably) one of the more affordable options. Recently I saw a guy installing it into a Corsair air 540, and he just cut the access metal in between the PCI slots.
