Evening

When I'm not keyboard and mousing I'm using a Steam Controller which I am loving for 3D third person adventure games (the kinds of games I wouldn't just be using a keyboard and mouse for anyway), but while it's not as bad as a 360 controller for 2D platformers, it's still not amazing.

If you're going to play a MegaMan-style platformer on PC which controller would you use?

2D platformers (IMO) play the best with a good D-Pad, so a solid choice would be the PS4 or Xbone controller. PS3 (and especially Xbox 360) controllers have horrible D-Pads.

DualShock 4 controller is pretty good, though I think the down on the D-pad is a little particular.

The Xbox 360 controller is awful for 2D games because of the D-pad. I don't know if the Xb1 controller is fully improved.

Maybe a SNES controller clone would be good for 2D games.

The snes clone is where I'm leaning, but most of them appear to be terrible.

Dual shock 4. I just bought one for my fighting games because the one I had was making miss my directional inputs. I'm guessing you have a similar problem with platformers. No matter what I do now, its impossible for me to miss my inputs with a dual shock 4. Sony really does make the best dpad.
