they are absolutely worth it, even at full price.

hearts of stone should last 20-30 hours

blood and wine more than 50 hours.

both DLC are kinda meant for post-game so make sure you're prepared.

So after I finish main quest line do side quests?

I'm almost done with the base main story of Witcher 3 and I finished the fight at the at Kaer Morhen and I love it. I am wondering if the DLC is worth the money thanks

It is so good that it is the second DLC I have ever bought, being Half-Life Oppositing Force the first lol

It's some of the best DLC ever done in my opinion. I think Hearts of Stone is one of the best narrative experiences I've had in gaming. Blood & Wine adds a huge new area to the map with a new major city and another probably ~50 hours of content if you actually do it all. For the price, I don't think you can do better if you like TW3.

Witcher 3 DLCs alone are better than most of the games from 2016.

Do some characters like Ciri and Yen come back in the DLC? Also I'm sad cause the story is over... :(

Several of the characters from the base game do make some appearances and have some dialogue in Blood & Wine depending the path you take through it, but they aren't central to the plot. Ciri's and Yennefer's stories are basically done in the base game. There are some excellent new characters in both, though.

The way the stories of the expansions are set up, it makes sense that some of the major characters aren't involved that much. Hearts of Stone plays kind of like a really elaborate TW3 side quest—it's just kind of a thing Geralt runs into. The intro to Blood & Wine is that you're taking another monster contract, it just so happens to be in another country quite far from the Northern Realms.

Well, new monsters, world, equipment, abilities slots, boss fights, stories and amazing soundtrack. I'd say yes. I have about 150 hours on PS4 just with main game + hearts of stone and over 250 hours on PC with both expansions. Just DON'T rush it, i feel really sad that there's no more Witcher for me, or at least not for the next decade.

Actually if you've red the books, the fact that you get to meet and talk to Regis a bunch made my day even more than finally seeing Yennefer.

Hearts of Stone is kinda short, but has a good story.

Blood and Wine is a new game, the story may not be that good, but the new area, missions and stuff in general... Are just great.

If you HAD to choose one, go for blood and wine. But ofc you should play both.

Ultra is stupid. ALWAYS.

Both are well worth the asking price imo, Blood and Wine is longer than most full priced  AAA titles.

Be sad after about 50 hours of gameplay when you beat both DLC. Then the story will be over on this masterpiece and we'll all have to wait for Cyberpunk 2077.

The DLC would be worth it if it cost $60 much less the $30 it's going for. They're both can't miss expansions for anyone who liked TWC3. Truly great DLC like this is rare.

are any of the previous witchers worth playing if caught on sale?

They're excellent and well-loved games, but they aren't as easy to recommend. Each Witcher game is separated by many years, and CDPR experimented with a lot of different styles of combat, control, world structure, etc. before basically nailing most of them in TW3. Witchers 1 and 2 are much different than 3, and much harder to get into in my opinion.

But then, they often go on sale for just a few dollars each. I got TW1 for free somehow on GOG during some seasonal promotion, and I think I've seen TW2 as cheap as $2.99 during Steam sales before. They're probably worth it just to try them if you find the right price.
