Sapphire warranty policy

Does Sapphire allow overclocking in their warranty policy of the rx480?

that doesn't matter in most cases but its recommended. if you break the card by overclocking they won't accept it.

thats not what i ment, im asking if overclocking voids the warrenty if it doesnt cause damage, i tried to OC for a week but reset to stock clocks as the gain wasnt worth it and i couldnt even hit 1400mhz.

Sapphire doesn't void the warranty when you overclock. The overclock is on your PC, so they would have no way to find out unless you tell them. Now, if you kill a cap, VRM, or two, you should be honest and say that it was when overclocking that it occurred, but that's me. You might not have the cash to be able to be completely honest in this regard.

My apologies if it seemed like I assumed you broke the card. Sapphire is a good company as far as customer service goes. Same can be said of MSI, EVGA, and Gigabyte. The only company I've ever had an issue with was Asus when a BIOS update bricked a motherboard and they (initially) refused to send me a replacement BIOS chip, which is like $6.
