Sorry it's a bit hard for me in the U.S. to know the market in Europe.  A direct conversion would make that a poor deal here, but you guys often have marked up prices so it's hard to tell.

What country are you in in specific?  And can you buy from Germany or England?

Thank you for the reply. 1250€ are like 1320$ ,I think the prices in europe have increased recently in all countries (let me know if I am wrong) I am in Spain and in principle I could buy anywhere in europe, I had found the a507 xmg for almost the same price as The msi, i would need some reviews

It looks like you are stuck with 1050 laptops.  The ones you've mentioned would both be good.  The XMG is Clevo, which is reliable though the feel is a little cheap on that model compared to some higher end ones.

About to buy an msi I realize the system deficiency. On the one hand some sellers who assure me that the 2 years guarantee will have to be settled directly with msi (I believe that it contradicts the laws in force both in Spain and throughout Europe or the seller must be able to manage the product during the guarantee I do not know what to do, but I do not know how to use it, Is there a topic on the reliability of different after-sales services (for the different brands) Thank you everyone.                                                               PS: I would like someone to inform me if I am the only one to have observed something weird in asus. The g501 model has disappeared from most stores. Something similar happens with the ux501 which is findable but less and less. Someone  made this observation before ? What they are doing?

Hello All,

I have been reading the forums here for a few weeks as I try to determine how to integrate into the PC master race. I have picked up some good suggestions, however, I have not yet seen an exact answer to my personal search for a 15" gaming laptop and am hoping a direct inquiry might provide better results.

As mentioned I am looking for a 15" gaming laptop. I travel for my job and already carry a non-gaming laptop so size (thickness) and weight do factor into my decision. I would like something 1" or smaller and under 4.5lbs. While I do not need the latest generation of processor, I do want to hit the GTX 10 series of graphics cards.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Chris

There isn't anything that meets that.

Either compromise on the screen size or weight.

The Gigabyte Aero 14 is good for a 14".  15" The MSI GS63 and Clevo P650HP6 are both close.

Hi there i have been looking for a gaming laptop for more than 6 months of research i have 3 choices  for me my idea is to get a powerful laptop that can handle triple AAA titles for 6 or 7 years at high or ultra settings until I can't play games even at low at that time i will use an egpu so the laptop must support egpu so i will build my choice on battery life and cooling system

my choices are

1- https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01M1MYZ0Q/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1488490954&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=Alienware&th=1&psc=1

Ok so...  First off only the AW supports eGPU officially.

Next, 6-7 years on high or ultra is pretty unrealistic.  Your cpu could easily be too weak, and Thunderbolt III / AGA could easily be a huge bottleneck on graphics cards by then.

A smarter plan is to buy what you can afford and plan on upgrading.  Computers move too fast to have a truly futureproof set up.

That's not to say it isn't possible what your trying to do could kinda work, I just don't think it'll work as well as you hope.

1. - U r saying buy what i can afford and plan on upgrading do u mean by upgrading is changing the laptop after it can't preform any tasks instead of getting the egpu that helps me ???

2 - which laptop from those that have the best cooling system ??

1. Yes instead of eGPU.  eGPU is very expensive and doesn't work perfectly.  You can almost just afford another system instead.

2. MSI GT62VR.

AW 15

Acer Predator 15

MSI GT62

May want to add the Clevo P650HS into what you're looking at it would go around the Acer maybe slightly above depending on screen.

1. It's still a bit of a risk.  If you are willing to deal with RMAs or tinker with it it can be fine.  I personally probably wouldn't do it if I wasn't gonna mess with it (I would though lol).

2. On low, hard call.  Depends how fast technology moves.  Should be good for several years though I would expect.

RMA means return the laptop because it's too hot or broken.

Tinker means to work on the laptop.  Open it and repaste it, things like that.

Cheapest is probably like an MSI GP62.  Or a last gen Skylake 1060 machine (which is a good idea cpus are similar).

GT62 is definitely better than the Asus, the Predator is closer.  It's better cooled on the cpu, but the Acer is very pleasing on the outside and with its features like better speakers, a good keyboard, and great screen.

@edit1754  Do you happen to know what the response time for the p650hp6-g IPS LG panel is? Trying to decide between it and the TN one. I emailed Larry 2 days ago or so, probably busy.

Thanks Galm, I don't know how I still haven't decided on a laptop haha. I take so long I end up re-researching things like the Blade, Asus, etc having to talk myself off of a cliff (avoid getting laptops with major QC issues). Currently trying to decide between that one(the p650) and the 9560 4k i7 512gb 1050, hopefully on sale somewhere...sacrificing graphics and money for a better build / battery.  Kicking myself for missing that 1250$ eluktronics you linked a while back.

It's well cooled and built, thinnest besides AW, and best battery life besides AW.  It also doesn't have AWs quality control issues it's a good machine.  Though I'd recommend the 120Hz or 4K display not the stock IPS.

What?  I do own a Clevo P650RS (older cpu model).  I got mine from HIDEvolution.  Easily the best in my experience, but they charged like a 100 dollar premium.
